Visit California | Travel + Fun Things to Do on Instagram: "Rainstorms. Rum drinks. A floating band in a lagoon. 🌧🍹🎶 Hidden inside the @FairmontSanFrancisco, the Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar is a legendary tiki escape where every night feels like a vacation. Come for the cocktails, stay for the tropical vibes (and surprise thunderstorms). Fun fact: that lagoon? It’s the hotel’s former swimming pool. 📍@TongaRoom in @OnlyInSF #VisitCalifornia #TongaRoom #FairmontSanFrancisco #SanFrancisco #OnlyI

Anthony Bourdain once called Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar “...the Greatest Place in the history of the world.” (Travel Channel’s The Layover). We could not agree more with this description of what is the longest continually operating Tiki Bar in the U.S. . Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar is located at Fairmont San Francisco and is open Wednesday through Sunday. . #TongaRoom #TikiBar #AnthonyBourdain | Fairmont San Francisco

Add this iconic San Francisco spot to your date night list! @tongaroom is the only restaurant I know of where you can listen to a live band floating on a boat in the middle of the room 🤭 The atmosphere is on point, too! ⛈️ From time to time, it will start “raining.” And you can see a flash of lightning, followed by the crackle of thunder. 🍤 I got the seafood curry. And Cristal got the Basil Chicken. We also shared a pu pu platter. 🍍 Along with piña colladas. Because, obviously? Just don’t loo
