Recently, KiwiRail had the pleasure of hosting Stan Letica, a 100-year-old rail veteran, at our Southdown Site. Stan came along to share his rich history working for the New Zealand Railways from 1940-1980 and talked about just how much it’s all changed. He shared stories and memories from the past and gifted KiwiRail his collection of rail tools he handmade in the Ōtāhuhu workshops!
