Started in 1958, the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Round-Up in West Texas is the world’s largest event of its kind. Each March, hunters bring in thousands of western diamondbacks for weighing, milking, and public display at the Nolan County Coliseum. It began as a way to control the local snake population and raise funds for the Jaycees civic club.
