In June I competed in the Chetwynd International Chainsaw Carving Championship in northern Britsh Columbia against some of the top chainsaw artists in the world. We had 3.5 days, a total of 35 hours, to create something out of a giant western red cedar log. I was inspired by working with aerial artist Michele Frances from Sky Candy, a circus arts studio in Austin, to create a piece that defies gravity.
