The vast majority of New Zealanders live urban lives. Nature doesn’t have to be locked off outside urban areas. It can flourish in our cities and towns, too. Cities across the world are greening their urban spaces and experiencing big benefits for people and wildlife. From Munich to Tokyo, Pōneke to Tāmaki Makaurau, cities are planting mini forests, making room for rivers, creating urban bird sanctuaries and restoring nature corridors.
