One of the oldest temples in Thailand was built in 1832 by King Rama lll. Wat Pho is home to a 49 foot tall, 150 foot long, gold leaf reclining Buddha statue. The walls, pillars, and ceiling are adorned with intricately detailed, hand-painted murals. That depict stories from the life of the Buddha, Jataka tales, and traditional Thai beliefs.
