Animal enrichment plays an integral role at the Houston Zoo, and our zookeepers work closely with animals to ensure they are physically and mentally stimulated through a variety of enrichment – cognitive, behavioral, food, environmental, sensory – every day. One of the enrichment activities our animals (and keepers) enjoy, including our lion pride, is painting artwork, using non-toxic paint, with their paw prints and tail swipes.
