Jun 4, 2022 · The show has said they do all filming in Scotland, though as a North Carolina native, it does look like NC. Jaime mentions that Frazier’s Ridge is in Rowan County. The boundaries of NC counties has change a lot between the 1760’s and now. Rowan County is currently northeast of Charlotte and a couple of hours away from the Blue Ridge.

When I visited Asheville a few years ago, I stayed at Bon Paul and Sharky's hostel too. Great place, great vibes, lots of interesting travelers. I left my copy of Lolita in their leave-a-book, take-a-book library.

May 12, 2023 · High up on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a short but steep climb to the peak of Waterrock Knob. An ‘unofficial’ additional trail, slick and rooty and marked by orange tags tied to tree limbs, leads to a second peak, Browning Knob, and just below, the site of a 1983 plane crash that resulted in the deaths of both pilot and passenger.
