Two Texas Tech University police officers were shot and injured early Tuesday morning during a confrontation outside Jones AT&T Stadium. The suspect was killed at the scene, authorities said.

Two Texas Tech University police officers were injured and the suspect is dead after a shooting early Tuesday morning in a parking lot of the Lubbock campus, officials said.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. as the two university police officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in a school parking lot near Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock Police Department officials told CBS. The suspect got out a gun and fired at the officers, police said.
