Steve Kerr kept things real when discussing Jonathan Kuminga and his expected return to the court. Golden State Warriors fans will know that Kuminga is one of the young and upcoming stars in the NBA and has established himself on both ends of the court.

The Golden State Warriors have issued a major injury update on Jonathan Kuminga ahead of Friday's game against the Sacramento Kings.

"Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, who suffered a sprained right ankle on January 4 vs. Memphis (Grizzlies) and has missed the last 21 games, returned to team practice this evening at Chase Center for the first time since sustaining the injury," Warriors' PR shared via Twitter/X.

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors received a massive boost regarding 6-foot-7 forward Jonathan Kuminga as they prepare to begin their playoff push over the last 30 games.

"Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, who suffered a sprained right ankle on January 4 vs. Memphis and has missed the last 21 games, returned to team practice this evening at Chase Center for the first time since sustaining the injury," the statement read. "His return to game action will be based on his continued progress and physical readiness."

On the verge of returning to the court, Jonathan Kuminga still faces a major hurdle in his long recovery process from a severely sprained ankle. Kuminga, 22, participated in practice for a second straight day on Thursday but again wasn’t cleared for live contact.
