A fugitive wanted for first-degree murder in North Carolina was arrested in January in Los Angeles, California after almost 18 years on the run.

Authorities said Omar Gray was indicted in 2007 and a nationwide manhunt was launched, earning him a spot on America's Most Wanted and an Interpol Red Notice.

On Friday, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office shared in a joint announcement with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation that Gray had been found in Los Angeles and extradited back on Jan.
