Map: 6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Crete, Prompting a Tsunami Alert
A strong, 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck in the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey. Greece's Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection warned on social media of a tsunami risk for parts of the nation's coast.
Crete, Greece's largest island, has been rocked by a 5.9 magnitude earthquake that was felt as far away as Israel, Egypt and Turkey.
