League is over. The Hornets won the popular and essential summer league event with an 83-78 victory against the Kings.
Las Vegas Summer League has become sort of the opposite: Player movement comes to a halt aside from a few restricted free-agency situations playing out, the best young players only take the court for a couple of games (if that), and the entire league unwinds from a long year.
Isaac Jones had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento (5-1), and Devin Carter scored 13. Nique Clifford, drafted 24th, finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. He entered the game averaging averaging 16.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.
Though the Lakers lost to the Clippers on July 14, James was one of the few bright spots as he logged a complete game: 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers. Additionally, he notably averaged 16.3 ppg, 4.3 apg and 2.6 rpg over a three-game stretch, able to get teammates involved and spark runs throughout.
After narrowly missing the summer semifinals, both 3-1 teams will wrap up their Las Vegas schedules at Thomas & Mack Center.
Yuki Kawamura has been on a journey to make it to the NBA, and the Chicago Bulls are his latest stop. He joined their roster and has been a central part of the Summer League team. He’s playing his way into future conversations, insider K.C. Johnson said.
Former OKC Thunder forward Darius Bazley suffered a "heartbreaking" injury with the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas Summer League.
