Liverpool have spent more than £170m this summer already - and now are interested in a player they would have to break the British transfer record to sign. With a package for Newcastle's striker Alexander Isak thought to cost up to £130m, their summer spending would soar to £300m.

Liverpool have made an approach to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. The Merseyside club say no formal offer has been submitted as they are well aware Newcastle’s stance has always been that Isak is not for sale. However, they have communicated their interest to do a deal in the region of £120million.
