The University of Pennsylvania has nominated transgender swimmer Lia Thomas for the NCAA ‘Woman of the Year’ award, according to an announcement from the NCAA.

Lia Thomas’ teammate also claimed that the University of Pennsylvania has suppressed the trans swimmer’s critics because she helps the team win.

Lia Thomas was nominated for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award by the University of Pennsylvania. In March, Thomas became the first transgender NCAA champion in Division 1 history.
