After recovering from an ankle injury, Wisconsin Badgers second-round pick John Tonje made his NBA Summer League debut for the Utah Jazz with a strong shooting performance in an overtime loss.

Riley Minix drained a buzzer-beating fadeaway to lift the San Antonio Spurs to a 93-91 overtime win over the Utah Jazz in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center on Monday evening.

On Sunday night the Jazz fielded a summer league squad that did not feature a single drafted rookie. No Ace Bailey, no Walter Clayton Jr., no John Tonje. Not even RJ Luis Jr., the undrafted rookie out of St. John’s, played for the Jazz.

Led by Gabe Madsen, the Warriors secured their first win of the Summer League with a 103-93 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Visitors also had the chance to showcase what they had to offer musically during the sessions on the Open Stage.

Jazz in July, the summer concert series offered by 92NY in New York, is kicking off its 2025 season tonight, July 15.
