New video shows the aftermath of a bear attack, and gunshots, in western Wisconsin. Authorities say they were trying to shoot the bear after it attacked a woman near Comstock on Saturday. Newly obtained dash and body camera footage from police in Cumberland shows an officer responding to the scene here near Comstock just after 2 p.m.
When the Wisconsin DNR and USDA arrived at the property after the attack, they found only one black bear cub in a tree, but there was no sign of the mother. Since the attack, they have been using a hound dog and traps to try and find the bear who mauled the woman.

New video released by Cumberland Police shows the aftermath of a bear attack near Comstock, Wisconsin Saturday. A 69-year-old woman was attacked by a black bear in Barron County Saturday afternoon while outside with her dogs.
The woman, identified by the DNR as Karen Frye, reported the attack that happened near the town of Comstock in Barron County around 2 p.m. She was able to call 911 and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Frye was eventually transferred to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
