The NWS Blacksburg VA issued an updated flood watch at 3:14 p.m. on Friday valid from Saturday 7 a.m. until Sunday 7 p.m. The watch is for Ashe, Alleghany and Watauga counties.

The National Weather Service assured the community that the flooding is unlikely to progress beyond "nuisance flooding."
