Two lanes of westbound Interstate 80 are blocked after a tree fell onto the highway as strong winds and heavy rain moved into the area on Wednesday.

Wind gusts of 20-30 mph are likely for the day, with the strongest gusts along the higher ridges, before increasing to 25-35 mph late evening and through Saturday night. Rain showers are likely late overnight into early Sunday, with a few downpours possible.

Parts of the North Bay were hit hard by heavy rain and strong winds on Wednesday, causing slick roads, accidents, and flooding. The storm also raised concerns for PG&E, as downed trees and branches threaten power lines.
