Ahead of Akron's bicentennial year, the Beacon Journal is assembling a bucket list of essential things to do in the area in 2025 and beyond.

GREEN, Ohio – Passenger numbers at the Akron-Canton Airport increased more than 20% in June over the previous year, due primarily to new flights from Breeze and Allegiant airlines.

Akron-Canton is the airline’s 11th crew base and the first in the Midwest. Its position in the middle of the country also will make it a supply hub for the carrier, Kiesel said.

Breeze Airways has resumed its seasonal nonstop service from Akron-Canton Airport to Los Angeles International (LAX), offering twice-weekly flights.
