House Republicans began taking a key procedural vote on President Trump's massive domestic policy bill late Wednesday evening, after scrambling for hours to shore up support ahead of a self-imposed July 4 deadline to get the bill to the president's desk.

House lawmakers will hold a vote after debating as President Trump pushes for a July 4th deadline to sign the bill into law.

By Wednesday evening, enough Republicans remained opposed to the Senate’s version of the bill to effectively stall its passage in the House.
