The attorneys general of all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C. and four U.S. territories have agreed to a $7.4 billion settlement with bankrupt drugmaker Purdue Pharma, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said on Monday.

The settlement ends the Sacklers’ control of Purdue and their ability to sell opioids in the United States, says the NCDOJ.

The deal ends the Sacklers’ control of Purdue, bars them from selling opioids in the U.S. and delivers funding across the country to support opioid-addiction treatment and prevention.
