Teuvo Teravainen and Team Finland are set to play Switzerland in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Switzerland beat Italy 3-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the men's Olympic ice hockey tournament at Milano Rho arena on Tuesday and will face defending champions Finland in the last eight.

MILAN (AP) — Finland showed plenty of fight in reviving its Olympic campaign. Joel Armia scored a short-handed goal and the Finns outmuscled archrival Sweden in a 4-1 group-stage victory Friday — 20 years after the sides squared off in the gold medal game at the Turin Games.

Finland’s outing against the U.S. will be the nation’s tournament opener after its game against Canada on Thursday was postponed to Feb. 12. The postponement came as a result of Finland having 13 of its 23 players in quarantine because of a norovirus that began affecting the team on Tuesday night.

Finland earned their first win at the 2026 women's Olympic hockey tournament beating Switzerland 3-1. It was a positive showing for a roster ravaged early in the games by norovirus.
