Verizon subscribers haven't been much kinder in the wireless carrier's own forums. NFL Mobile has other issues: its $5/month video service, which includes some live games, doesn't work on iPads.

Fans will be able to stream games on three apps: Yahoo Sports, Verizon's go90 and NFL Mobile. Streaming NFL games on smartphones had been a Verizon exclusive since 2010.

The latest update to NFL Mobile prepares it for the Draft, beginning on Thursday, April 25th. Verizon customers can use the app to follow news and updates, including custom team tracking tools.

Verizon already pays the NFL handsomely to stream games on mobile devices, but that deal only includes prime-time and local-market games, and the streams are limited to viewers in the U.S.

In contrast to its previous live-streaming arrangement, which was exclusive to Verizon subscribers, Big Red's new deal applies to NFL viewers regardless of whether they're part of the Verizon network.
