The former Texas assistant high school football coach accused of ordering his players to hit a referee in a game will be put on 18 months probation after pleading guilty to assault charges.

Mack Breed, an assistant coach at John Jay High School in San Antonio, allegedly told the players to “take out” the referee during a game on Sept. 4.
