Tennis legend Serena Williams has joined the ownership group of the Toronto Tempo, a WNBA expansion team that will play its inaugural season in 2026. Williams will be joining Larry Tanenbaum, chairman of Kilmer Sports Ventures, in the ownership group.

The 23-time grand slam tennis champion is the newest owner of the Toronto Tempo — a debut WNBA team scheduled to begin play in 2026. It will be the first WNBA team in Canada.
