PITTSBURGH -- Left-hander Tim Mayza and the Pittsburgh Pirates agreed Monday to a one-year, $1.15 million contract. Mayza was 0-2 with a 6.33 ERA in 50 relief appearances last season for the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees. He did not allow a run in three postseason appearances.

On Monday, the team announced they signed left-handed pitcher Tim Mayza to a one-year contract for the upcoming 2025 season. The 33-year-old pitcher has a record of 20-9 with four saves, a 3.88 ERA, and 304 strikeouts across 367 appearances with the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially announced their one-year deal with left-handed reliever Tim Mayza. The deal, which was reported last week, is for $1.15 million, a source told Pittsburgh Baseball Now. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Mayza, the Pirates have designated infielder Alika Williams for assignment.

Tim Mayza, who turned 33 last month, is 20-9 with a 3.88 ERA and four saves over seven seasons with Toronto (2017-24) and New York. He had Tommy John surgery on Sept. 18, 2019.
