Authorities in Scotland have canceled trains and closed parks as a rare summer storm brings destructive winds to northern Britain.

LONDON: High-speed winds disrupted trains and brought down trees in Scotland and northern England on Monday (Aug 4), as residents were urged to stay home during an "unusually" fierce summer storm sweeping across the UK.

Footage posted on Facebook by a resident shows neighbours watching on in shock as around 20 cattle gathered on a street in the village of Carfin in North Lanarkshire this afternoon.
