Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said he is "horrified" after two Israeli Embassy employees were shot and killed Wednesday night while leaving the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. In a written release,
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said on social media that “early indicators are” that the shooting of two Israeli Embassy staffers was “an act of targeted violence.”
A gunman shot and killed two employees of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night outside an event at the Capital Jewish Museum, officials said. The shooter, who was taken into custody shortly after the killings, shouted pro-Palestinian slogans after he was detained, officials said.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon described the shooting as “a depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism” in a post on X. The shooting, which took place in the area of 3rd and F Street NW, killed a man and a woman, who have not yet been publicly identified. Others, including Israeli embassy employees, were injured.
