The Rams promoted Nate Scheelhaase to passing game coordinator after other teams wanted to hire him this offseason.

Sean McVay became head coach of the Los Angeles Rams at just 30 years old in 2017, so while he is still one of the NFL's youngest coaches at 39, he is a grizzled veteran at the same time. So far, McVay has resisted a very early retirement from coaching despite plenty of rumors that he may do so.

"I think it's really kind of been a year-to-year thing. … As long as he wants to play," McVay said of being able to keep Stafford.

With the 37-year-old signal caller staying put—and head coach Sean McVay announcing that veterans Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein will also remain in L.A. —an offseason that looked to be a reset for the Rams has now turned into a "run it back.” This bodes the question: Could Kupp also return?

After allowing Matthew Stafford to talk to other teams, the Rams reached a new deal with Stafford to keep him in 2025.

Sean McVay insists he never seriously thought his partnership with Matthew Stafford would come to an end this month after four seasons together with the Los Angeles Rams.

Part of the reason McVay felt confident in a deal getting done is the fact that the Rams knew this was coming down the line. After adjusting Stafford’s contract last offseason, they knew they’d have to go back to the negotiating table this year to once again tweak Stafford’s deal for 2025.

The Rams coach always thought that his star quarterback would stay with the team. Receiver Cooper Kupp, though is still on the trading block.

The Rams confirmed on Friday that the two sides had worked out an agreement that would keep Stafford with the organization through at least the 2025 season.
