One interesting selection was made by the New York Giants at pick No. 3, selecting Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. There was speculation that New York might target a quarterback with their top pick, but the Giants would later trade into the No. 25 pick to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Carter, who starred at Penn State and La Salle College High School, goes to the Giants as he stays in the same division as his hometown team.
