There will soon be a doughnut-sized hole in McDonald’s U.S. menu. McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme said Tuesday that they're ending their partnership on July 2, a little more than a year after it was announced.

McDonald's and Krispy Kreme announced on Tuesday that the companies are ending their partnership after the doughnut maker failed to achieve sustainable results.

Krispy Kreme (NASDAQ:DNUT) only fell 0.8% after announcing the company announced that it made a joint decision with McDonald's (MCD) to end the partnership. Truist Securities analyst Bill Chappell noted that the disappointing news was largely expected after a pause to the partnership was announced in April.
