Ukrainian officials say that a massive Russian drone-and-missile attack targeted Ukraine for a second consecutive night, killing at least seven people and injures dozens.

Reuters witnesses saw and heard successive waves of drones flying over Kyiv, and a series of explosions jolted the city.

At least seven people have been killed as Russian forces attacked Kyiv and other cities early this morning, officials said. Moscow and Kyiv have exchanged attacks as Russia said it faced a barrage of Ukrainian drones and intercepted or destroyed around 100 of the unmanned Ukrainian weapons including some aimed at Moscow.

Nightly Russian attacks on Ukraine have become a common feature of the war. They have continued even during recent peace talks which have failed to bear fruit.

Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed a large-scale missile and drone strike on a military-industrial site in Kiev that manufactures drones and missiles. The attack also targeted a radar surveillance center and a US-made Patriot air defense system.
