The mayor of Fall River said only two people were working at the Gabriel House in Fall River when a fire broke out Sunday night, killing nine residents​ at the assisted living facility.

As the massive investigation into the cause and origin of the Gabriel House fire ensues, we're learning more about the fire safety inspection reports from the Oliver Street facility.

A fundraiser held for the survivors of the Gabriel House fire in Fall River raised over $100,000, according to WJAR. The outpouring of support comes as the death toll from the blaze rose to 10 on Friday.

It’s very important in a crisis that people stay in contact,” Mayor Paul Coogan said in a wide-ranging interview from his office Friday.

Brenda Cropper, 66, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Sunday’s fire at the Gabriel House on Oliver Street.
