U.S. stock futures were trading higher on Friday as activity resumed following a glitch that had halted the market earlier in the morning. S&P 500 futures were up by 15 points, or 0.2%, at 6,842. Nasdaq-100 futures were up by 87 points,
CME said futures trading resumed as of 8:30 a.m. ET Friday, after earlier restoring some other services, including bond and currency-trading platforms. Contracts tied to major indexes such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100 and Dow industrials stopped trading shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. Traders in commodities such as crude oil and gold were in limbo.
