The Senate voted along party lines last night to confirm senior Justice Department official Emil Bove to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Bove, a former personal defense attorney for President Donald Trump, faced several whistleblower allegations about his conduct at the department, which he denied.

Investors hoping for a flurry of trade deals before the Aug. 1 deadline may be underwhelmed at the minute. Talks with China ended in Stockholm yesterday, while a deal with India has yet to be announced.
