Mississippi State baseball couldn’t get more than two innings from its starting pitcher on a crucial SEC series finale. The Bulldogs fell 14-8 at No. 11 Auburn on April 27. A win would’ve won MSU the series.

Throughout Auburn’s three losses to Texas and its 1-0 midweek win over Georgia Tech, one glaring problem was the inability to take advantage of opportunities with runners on base.

Mississippi State topped No. 11 Auburn in Saturday's game by jumping to an early lead and using it to coast to victory. On Sunday, the Tigers returned the favor to claim the series.
