Harvard University held its commencement ceremony today as a federal district judge said she will issue a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from making changes to Harvard’s student visa program indefinitely.

After a series of court losses spurred Trump officials to change course on their international student agenda, they’ve returned with a slate of new and devastating policies.

Harvard wants its students to go and change the world and you can’t change the world without understanding the world,” she said.

At Mount Holyoke College, a liberal arts school some 90 miles west of Boston, administrators have few answers so far for their perspective international students who are no longer certain they will be allowed to study in the US.

Many international students come to the U.S. with hopes of gaining work experience, either before returning to their home countries or pursuing a longer-term career in the U.S.
